Vedettes de l'Île de Batz winter timetable, 15 October 2026 to 31 March 2027
Spring tides and bad weather The 2026 brochure warns that times may change on days of spring tides, and the terms of sale describe the timetable as indicative, subject to change for bad weather, spring tides or other reasons. Check the operator's website before you set off.
Boarding point in Roscoff Boats leave from the Quai Neuf at high tide and from the far end of the jetty at low tide (about 600 m further). The Brittany Region reopened the jetty on 4 July 2026 after works, so the low-tide transfer to Bloscon marina, still mentioned on the town hall website, no longer applies.
Wheelchairs According to the operator's FAQ, wheelchairs can be carried on the boats, but the slipways have steps. The ramp on the new jetty does not guarantee boarding on every boat or at every tide: call +33 7 62 61 12 12 before you travel.

2026 return fares from Vedettes de l'Île de Batz. The €18 bike fare covers only the bike, e-bike, tandem or folding trailer: the rider pays a passenger ticket on top. Luggage included: one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person; each extra bag costs €18. Cargo bikes are not allowed. Pay by cheque, cash, chèques vacances or bank card, with cards accepted only at the ticket office (not on board). "OPEN" tickets leave the date and time of both legs free, but a ticket bought for several people means they all travel together. The 2026 brochure says online tickets are non-refundable and come without an invoice. Groups of 20 or more: rates on request on +33 7 62 61 12 12. All fares in euros (EUR).
Boats between Roscoff and Île de Batz are run by Vedettes de l'Île de Batz, a joint venture (GIE) formed in January 2019 by Armein Excursions, Armor Excursions and CFTM, three firms that already served the island. The island's town hall puts the crossing at 15 minutes.
Where you board in Roscoff depends on the tide. At high tide, boats leave from the Quai Neuf in the old harbour; at low tide, from the far end of the long jetty (estacade), roughly 600 m further on. The operator asks passengers to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early. The Brittany Region reopened the jetty on 4 July 2026 after works, with a new access ramp, so the low-tide transfer to Bloscon marina that the town hall website still mentions is out of date.
The winter timetable runs from 15 October to 31 March with eight sailings a day each way. On Sundays and public holidays in that period the first boat on each side (07:45 from Batz, 08:30 from Roscoff) is cancelled. Spring brings ten sailings a day each way from 1 April to 5 July, and from 6 July to 31 August boats run every half hour. The operator warns that times can change on days of spring tides, and its terms of sale call the timetable indicative.
All 2026 fares are returns: €11 from age 12, €7 for children aged 4 to 11, €2 for under-4s and €2 for a dog. A bike, e-bike, tandem or folding trailer costs €18 on top of the rider's ticket; a child's or folding bike, €9. Each passenger may bring one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage, with €18 for each extra bag. Cargo bikes are not allowed. "OPEN" tickets let you pick the day and time of both legs, but a ticket bought for a group means everyone on it travels together.
Individual travellers cannot book; groups of 20 or more must, on +33 7 62 61 12 12. The ticket office takes cheques, cash, chèques vacances and bank cards, but cards are not accepted on board, so when the office is closed buy online or pay on board before departure. For evenings and weekends the operator suggests buying online; the 2026 brochure says online tickets are non-refundable. There is no cash machine on the island, though the town hall says shops there take cards. Wheelchairs can be carried on the boats, but the slipways have steps, so call before you travel. On parking, the operator says the nearest car park is small and intended for island users, others charge from June to mid-September, and free RoskoBus shuttles serve outlying car parks in July and August.
- Be at the landing a few minutes before departure; vehicle boarding can close before the posted time.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — high river levels, wind, fog, works or maintenance can change or suspend crossings.
- Find out how you pay before you travel: some river ferries are free, others sell tickets on the quay, on board or online.
