Return fares published by Izenah Croisières for the direct shuttle, no booking needed. Under-4s travel free only on a family outing. The luggage charge (€5) is per one-way trip and applies from five bags or for any bulky item (sack truck, wheelbarrow, small building tools, five shopping bags). Bikes refused on board: long tails, cargo bikes and fat bikes according to the route page; the 2026 brochure lists only cargo bikes. Payment by cash, chèques vacances or bank card. According to the Île-aux-Moines town hall, tickets are sold at Port-Blanc, or on board out of season. All fares in euros (EUR).

The crossing to Île aux Moines takes about five minutes. Izenah Croisières runs a direct passenger shuttle from the quay at Port-Blanc, in the mainland commune of Baden, to the island's harbour, every day of the year, and you do not need to book.

The shuttle keeps a fixed half-hourly rhythm. Boats leave Port-Blanc at five and thirty-five minutes past each hour and leave the island on the hour and half hour. What changes through the year is the length of the operating day: 07:00–19:30 from October to March, 07:00–20:00 in April, May, June and September, and 07:00–22:00 from 1 July to 31 August. Izenah does not publish the exact last boat in each direction, so if you are coming back late, ask at the quay.

Sundays and public holidays start later. From March to mid-November the first crossing is at 08:00. From mid-November to the end of February the route page lists sailings at 08:00, 09:00 and 10:00 before the half-hourly pattern resumes, while the 2026 brochure lists only 08:00 and 09:00. On New Year's Day the first boat is at 09:00. The operator gives no exact date for "mid-November", so check before an early Sunday trip that month.

Fares are for a return trip: €6.80 for adults, €4.40 for children aged 4 to 10, and free for under-4s on a family outing. A standard bike costs €6.20, an electric bike €7.00 and a cart or bike trailer (carriole) €6.20. Long tails, cargo bikes and fat bikes are refused on board according to the route page; the brochure mentions only cargo bikes. Five or more bags, or anything bulky such as a sack truck or wheelbarrow, cost €5 per one-way trip. Dogs on a lead travel free.

You can pay in cash, by bank card or with chèques vacances. The Île-aux-Moines town hall says tickets are sold at Port-Blanc, or on board out of season. Izenah states that its boats are fitted out for passengers with reduced mobility, but it does not describe boarding on each shuttle at every state of the tide, so wheelchair users should call ahead. The line +33 2 97 57 23 24 is staffed daily from 09:15 to 17:15 between April and September and during the autumn half-term (vacances de la Toussaint); the group line, +33 2 97 14 26 03, is open Monday to Friday.

Driving on the N165 dual carriageway, take the "Arradon – Île aux Moines" exit if you are coming from Rennes or Nantes, or "Le Bono – Baden" from Quimper or Brest, then follow signs for Île aux Moines. Izenah mentions car parks close to the departure quay.

  • Be at the landing a few minutes before departure; vehicle boarding can close before the posted time.
  • Check the operator's notices on the day — high river levels, wind, fog, works or maintenance can change or suspend crossings.
  • Find out how you pay before you travel: some river ferries are free, others sell tickets on the quay, on board or online.
