Département's 2026–2027 booklet (no validity dates printed) – Monday to Saturday pattern

Big tides When tidal coefficients are high, the Département may bring the last sailing forward, suspend the crossing with no restart time and bar lorries. Each change is posted on the Inforoute 76 map and its Seine crossings feed.

Busy periods According to Quillebeuf town council, once the vehicles waiting on one slipway fill the boat, it leaves without waiting for the timetable, and crossings become more frequent when it is busy.

Dated technical closures The booklet only shows the maintenance and drill slots built into the Sunday and holiday grids. Other planned stoppages are announced case by case on Inforoute 76.

Free crossing, with no ticket or booking, for foot passengers, cyclists, motorcycles and cars. The Département lists the Port-Jérôme ferry in its 'maritime' category, which takes lorries, but an Inforoute 76 notice can bar them, for instance during big tides. Motorhomes: ask the crew before boarding.

The Quillebeuf ferry carries traffic across the Seine between Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine, on the right bank in Seine-Maritime, and Quillebeuf-sur-Seine, on the left bank in the neighbouring Eure département. The Département de la Seine-Maritime runs it as one of its eight Seine crossings, and Quillebeuf town council says the service is funded by both the Eure and Seine-Maritime départements. There is nothing to pay and nothing to book: you queue at the slipway and drive, ride or walk on.

Foot passengers, cyclists, motorcyclists and car drivers are all carried. The Département's open data puts this crossing in its 'maritime' category, the ferries that can take lorries. If you are travelling in a motorhome, Normandie Tourisme advises checking with the crew before you board.

The 2026–2027 timetable booklet has three grids: Monday to Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays that fall on a weekday. From Monday to Saturday most sailings are 20 minutes apart, with an hour's pause in the middle of the day and a shorter one in the evening. Sunday mornings have two breaks: a slot kept for a safety drill before 08:00, then a maintenance stop, after which the next boats leave Port-Jérôme at 11:30 and Quillebeuf at 11:40. Weekday holidays keep the early drill but not the maintenance stop. Both the town council and Normandie Tourisme say there is no ferry on 1 May.

Treat the times as a guide. According to the council, when enough vehicles are waiting on one slipway to fill the boat, it leaves straight away rather than waiting for its slot. Big tides work the other way: the Département has brought the last sailing forward, suspended the crossing because of high tidal coefficients and barred lorries, posting each change on Inforoute 76. Check the Inforoute 76 map or the 76 Pocket app before setting off, or phone the CIGT traffic centre on 0800 876 876.

  • Be at the landing a few minutes before departure; vehicle boarding can close before the posted time.
  • Check the operator's notices on the day — high river levels, wind, fog, works or maintenance can change or suspend crossings.
  • Find out how you pay before you travel: some river ferries are free, others sell tickets on the quay, on board or online.
